About All Saints Lutheran Church
All Saints Lutheran Church (ASLC) is an Independent Lutheran congregation defined by its Constitution, Confession of Faith and its current Mission Statement: ASLC is an open, Christian community committed to the acceptance of all people. The church’s mission is to teach God’s Word and its application to daily life, and to be a place of spiritual and personal nourishment that inspires people to be a positive force in the world. This is accomplished through meaningful worship, education, and fellowship opportunities for all ages, and by reaching out to those in need.
The church is located in Orland Park, a southwest suburb of Chicago. It currently serves a congregation of approximately 500 members, delivering three weekly services and a livestream (for those who cannot attend in person). A variety of educational and extracurricular opportunities are offered throughout the week such as Sunday School, Youth Group, Stitch & Sew, Men’s Club, Choir and more. Outreach programs are a priority and ongoing throughout the calendar year.

The Pastor serves as a spiritual leader and shepherd of All Saints Lutheran Church (ASLC). This role is responsible for preaching and teaching the Word of God, administering the Sacraments, providing pastoral care, and equipping the congregation for ministry in accordance with the church’s Constitution, Confession of Faith, and Mission.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preaching, Worship, and Sacraments
- Provide biblical, theologically sound, and relevant preaching for weekly worship services.
- Oversee the planning and leadership of all worship services, including seasonal liturgies (e.g., Lent, Advent, Holy Week).
- Administer Baptism and the Lord’s Supper in accordance with Lutheran doctrine.
- Coordinate with music and worship teams to ensure services are meaningful and spiritually enriching.
2. Pastoral Care and Discipleship
- Offer pastoral care through counseling, visitation, and prayer for individuals and families.
- Provide spiritual guidance during life transitions, including weddings, funerals, baptisms, and hospital stays.
- Develop and support opportunities for adult / youth education, Bible study, and spiritual formation.
3. Leadership and Administration
- Lead and collaborate with the Senior Pastor, Church Council, ministry teams, and staff to fulfill the church’s mission.
- Provide leadership in vision casting, strategic planning, and congregational development.
- Supervise and mentor staff, ensuring alignment with church goals and values.
- Attend and report at Church Council and congregational meetings.
- Plan, organize and prepare for church events, such as the Spaghetti Dinner, Steak Fry, Bingo, summer picnics and other fundraising.
4. Outreach and Community Engagement

Represent ASLC in the wider community through involvement in local outreach, ecumenical relations, and partnerships.
- Encourage congregational involvement in mission and service efforts locally and globally.
Qualifications*:

Must be a Christian and have at a minimum, an undergraduate degree from a recognized college / university.
- It is highly recommended that the candidate have a graduate degree from a recognized Christian theological seminary or have taken courses from such an educational institution.
- Must be willing to engage in a continuing education program to enhance their ministerial skills.
- Prior pastoral experience is preferred, ideally in a congregational setting of similar size or complexity.
- Strong preaching, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead with humility, integrity, and vision.
- Will commit themself to the church’s Confession of Faith and its current Mission Statement.
- Willingness to obtain current CPR and AED certifications
*This position requires the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The role may also involve periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching as necessary to perform job-related tasks. Schedule and Compensation:
- This is a full-time position
- Some remote work is possible, off-site work is included in visits, etc.
- Majority of responsibilities and tasks take place on-site at the Church
- Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications
The Pastor (Full-Time) position will have a start date of July 1, 2026 or later.
