Children’s sermon: May 9, 2021
“Ask your mom”
I’d like you to meet Fred and his “coffee pot” family.
Here is the “mom coffee pot” … here is the “dad one.” The mom-pot is bigger … wonder why???
Probably because moms do so much!@!!
Why are they coffee pots today? ---------- well, Fred’s parents always “perk” people up!! (sorry)
And ---- Fred’s parents are very well “grounded.” (sorry again)
So, Fred goes up to his dad ------ “Dad, can I use the car tonight?”
His dad waits a moment, and then responds: “Go ask your mom.”
Fred’ brother goes to his dad ----- “Dad, can I stay out ‘til 10:30 tonight?”
“Better ask your mom.”
His sister asks her dad ---- “Dad, can I have a sleep – over tonight?”
“Oh, that’s your mom’s department … go ask her!!”
Fred asks is dad one more thing: “Hey, can stay home from church tomorrow?”
“Gotta ask mom about that!!”
This morning … all the kids come to their dad. They are about to ask him something …
and dad interrupts.
“You know???? … today is Mother’s Day.
And I’m always asking your mom to make the decisions … which really isn’t fair.
So, today ---- instead of asking your mom for anything …. how about telling her how
much you love her. She is an amazing mom!!”
They all smile: “Yes, she is.
And, by the way, dad --------- it wouldn’t hurt you to makes some of the decisions.”
MOM … MOM!@!!!!!!!
WE LOVE YOU.
LET’S ALL GO TO CHURCH TODAY. BUY SOME FLOWERS.
AND THEN WE WILL TAKE YOU OUT FOR LUNCH.
Mom smiles and says to her kids:
“Just make sure dad is buying!@! … love you all!!”
Hey, kids … let’s look inside this “mom coffee pot.”
Whoa!@!! It’s full … just like your mom’s heart. There is something inside for all of you!!
